Your Student’s CHECKLIST Before Starting at KSU this Fall (Part 2)!

As parents of incoming college students, we want to ensure that your student has a seamless experience when it comes to parking on campus. Show your students this step-by-step guide to help them purchase a parking permit and secure designated parking areas on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses:

Step 1: Access the Parking Portal by logging in using your NetID and password. If you're having trouble finding the Parking Portal, simply visit Kennesaw.edu/parking and click on the "Parking Portal" button.

Step 2: On the top of the page, click on the "Permits" tab, then select "Get Permits" from the drop-down menu. This will redirect you to our user-friendly virtual permitting system.

Step 3: Navigate to the bottom of the page and click "Next" to proceed to the "KSU Permit Selection and Permit Agreement" page. Here, you can choose a permit that suits your needs. Don't forget to read and acknowledge Parking and Transportation's rules and regulations by checking the boxes provided.

Step 4: If you have multiple vehicles, add them to your account by selecting the "Add an Additional Vehicle" option at the bottom of the "Select Your Vehicles for Permit" page. Then, click "Next" to continue.

Step 5: On the "Purchase Overview" page, you'll find important information such as the permit term, permit options, and campus maps displaying designated parking areas.

Step 6: To finalize the permit selection process, click "Checkout" at the bottom of the page, which will take you to the "Finalize Purchase" page. Review all the details, check the box indicating your understanding of the statements provided, and click "Transfer Permit Fee to Owl Express."

Upon your student successfully completing their permit selection, they will receive a confirmation email from the Parking and Transportation department. If you and your student are unsure of which permit is right for them, don’t worry!

Which Permit Should They Pick?

If your student will be living on campus, they should opt for a Residential Parking Permit based on their campus residence: for the Marietta campus, select the corresponding Marietta permit; for the Kennesaw campus, choose either a First-Year permit or an Upper-Class permit. On the other hand, if your student will be commuting to campus, the Commuter Parking Permit will grant access to a variety of designated parking areas on each campus.

License Plate = Parking Permit

Please note that your student's license plate serves as their permit. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure that the make, model, and license plate information for each vehicle they drive to school is accurately listed on their account. They can visit the Parking Portal to add or update their vehicle information.

Remember, parking outside of designated areas may result in citations. For more detailed information, visit our website.

We look forward to welcoming your student as they embark on their exciting college journey. Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
