Hello families!

So, your student is living on campus. There are exciting times ahead as our campus comes alive with the start of the school year, and we understand that you may want to visit your student on campus. We welcome visitors to KSU year-round for various events or casual stops.

  1. Parking On Campus

To accommodate our guests as conveniently as possible, we offer contactless parking payment through the ParkMobile app at both campuses. A $0.35 transaction fee applies. Pay-per-Plate kiosks are also available in each Visitor parking area.

  1. Sending Mail to Your Student

Campus Postal Services provides KSU with convenient access to mailing services. To send mail/packages to your student, ask them for their on-campus address. Students have 15 days to pick up letter mail and packages. Kennesaw students collect mail/packages from the second floor of James V. Carmichael Student Center (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Marietta students collect mail/packages from the ground floor of Joe Mack Wilson Student Center (Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Click here for more information on Campus Postal Services.

  1. Your Students’ Roommates

If your student has a roommate, it’s natural that challenges may arise at some point. Just remember these roommate dynamics are a part of your student’s journey. Our Parent Resource Guide offers insights on this topic.

If your student is looking to change rooms, the Room Change Form opens on Monday, August 28 at 8 a.m. Please note there is a fee for changing rooms, and we cannot guarantee we will be able to offer your student a room that is different than their current floorplan. Please encourage your student to chat with their RA if they are considering changing rooms.

  1. Student Involvement

Encourage your student to get involved in campus life! They can stay up to date on KSU events through Owl Life, explore the Localist Calendar and find out about residential programs via our Residential Living webpage. Our website and social media platforms are also great sources of information.

  1. Possible Maintenance Needs

If something needs Facilities’ attention in your student’s room, they must put in a request for maintenance in the Housing Portal. Once logged in, they should navigate to the “Maintenance” tab to put in a work order. In case of emergencies (flooding, AC outage), they should call the Talon One Service Center at (470) 578-8663 (T-ONE) during 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Find after-hours emergency maintenance numbers on our website.
