2023 Family Weekend FULL Schedule

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6TH

Marietta - Guests may park in Lot P38 (East Lot) and the P60 Deck (West Deck)

Kennesaw - Guests may park on the top floor of the East Deck.

All Day - Scarecrows on Main - Downtown Kennesaw - FREE

Enjoy a stroll through downtown Kennesaw to enjoy the spirited Scarecrow displays crafted by local businesses, organizations as well as some of our KSU students!

10 AM - 5 PM - Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA) Open - FREE

Come to our amazing on-campus art museum and see the two current exhibitions by outstanding contemporary artists of international repute, NIRVANA, Polly Apfelbaum and {UNDER}flow, a group exhibition celebrating the work of five Afro-Caribbean Artists: Josué Azor, Firelei Báez, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, David Antonio Cruz, and Didier William.

Location: Kennesaw Campus. Visitor parking is available in Lot J, across the street from the Museum. Several free, marked parking spaces, including two handicapped spaces, are available in Lot D, directly in front of the museum. Unmarked parking spaces in Lot D are not available during business hours.

Want to learn more about the incredible art on display? Come to one of our guided tours specifically for KSU families. Get an in-depth understanding of the exhibitions through a conversation with one of our trained docents. No prior art-reading experience is necessary!

    11 AM-1 PM - Take Your Family to Lunch - On Your Own
    Join your student for lunch at either one of our dining halls and experience 2022's 13th best dining program in the nation! Each location will have a spirited selection of offerings! 

    Payment: Guests are welcome to use their students Meal Plan entries or pay $14 plus tax per person with credit or debit (cash is not accepted).

    Location: The Commons (Kennesaw) and Stingers (Marietta) Dining Halls - Feel free to park in the deck next to Stingers and only park in spaces NOT assigned to 

    1:00 PM - 2:30 PM –Student Recreation and Activities Center Tours -FREE

    Check out the best places on campus to recreate! Tours will be available of the recreation centers on each campus. Visit the lobby to learn about programs available to your student and enjoy a personal tour by one of our recreation staff members! Fun fact - our Marietta Recreation and Wellness Center reopened earlier this semester after a large renovation! 

    Tours will take place every 15 minutes!

    1:00 PM - 2:30 PM –Marietta Campus Tours and Resource Fair -FREE

    Several academic support services, registered student organizations along with student tours will be set up near Stingers Dining Hall between K-Field and the Engineering Technology Building. Look for a table that says 'Student Affairs' if you need to ask a question or be directed to activities. Student tours will be leaving from/returning to this table.  

    2:30 PM - 3:30 PM –Last Lecture Presentation -FREE

    Interested in learning what college lectures are like? Join us on either campus for an awesome presentation by two beloved professors!

    ***THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION - YOU MAY STILL ATTEND THE PEP RALLY EVENT, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE RECEPTION PORTION***

    Registered/Paid Participants of Family Weekend- If you purchased a weekend package or T-shirt for Family Weekend, be sure to stop by our check-in location to pick up your materials. All registered participants will receive a detailed email a few days in advance with final helpful details for location pick up, parking info, etc. 

    If you are unable to make this time for pick up, please contact: family@kennesaw.edu. We will host a late check in on Saturday morning, but we need to know you are coming. Thank you in advance.

    Paid and non-paid participants of the weekend: Anytime from 4-6pm, come to the Carmichael Student Center on the Kennesaw Campus to enjoy Academic Advising resources, lots of other campus resource AND an Off-Campus Housing Fair on the 1st floor in our University Rooms. It's never too early to plan for where your student will live next year! All this with time to shop at the bookstore too!

    *6:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Friday KickOff Event- (Reception + Pep Rally) - *PAID EVENT for Family Weekend LISTED HERE*

    Hooty-Hoo, y'all! Get fired up for some awesome KSU School Spirit! After you’ve checked-in/grabbed your materials for Family Weekend, you’ll be ready to enjoy a fun tailgate reception on the Campus Green with tons of fun with attractions and music! You’ll hear from our President, VP and our amazing Football Coach and a few players! As we conclude, our Marching Owls will lead us in spirited music that will usher us into the next and final event of the evening.

    7:00 PM – Doors Open/8:00 PM Event Begins – "Hooty Hoo’s Got Talent" – FREE (but must reserve an e-ticket in advance)

    Students will compete to see ‘HOO’ has the most talent on campus! This event will begin promptly after the Pep Rally ends – just a short walk across the Campus Green to the Convocation Center. Plan to stay and support our amazing students!

    SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7TH

    9 AM-12 PM – Marietta Square Farmer’s Market – Marietta Square - FREE

    Come join this Marietta tradition on the square! Voted Atlanta’s #1 Farmer’s Market! Information HERE.

    9 AM-11 AM – FAMILY WEEKEND LATE CHECK-IN – Carmichael Student Center/Across from Bookstore Entrance/2nd floor

    If you will not be able to attend our Friday evening check-in, please email in advance so we may accommodate you during our late check-in opportunity: family@kennesaw.edu. This is for PAID registrants of the weekend to pick up their weekend package materials.

    10 AM-2 PM – Museum of History and Holocaust Education – KSU Center - FREE

    The Museum of History and Holocaust Education is thrilled to welcome families for Homecoming & Family Weekend! We are a short walk away from the Fifth Third Bank Stadium (we are located at 3333 Busbee Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144). The museum will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is free to explore on your own. You may park for free near the entrance of the museum, but due to game day activities, please use the entrance closest to Chastain Road. If you proceed to the second entrance, closer to the KSU Stadium, you'll be asked to pay to park. You may leave your car at the museum free of charge for the entirety of the game if you park in the free area.

    While the exhibits are designed to be self-guided, a museum educator will be on-site to give free tours at the following times:

    • 10:30-11:00 – Tour of Parallel Journeys: The Holocaust Through the Eyes of Teens
    • 11:15-11:45 – Tour of Georgia Journeys: Legacies of World War II
    • 12:00-12:30 – Tour of Georgia Goes to War
    • 12:45-1:15 – Tour of Beyond Rosie: Women in World War II and The Tuskegee Airmen: The Segregated Skies of World War II
      The Museum will close at 2:00 p.m. in preparation for the game.

    12:30 PM - Game Day Experiences: ALL GAME DAY DETAILS LOCATED HERE! 

    NOTE ^ the football game has reached capacity, however the below Owl Town will still be open/available as well as the Owl Walk for any to join, even without a ticket to the game!

    The following events will be located near or inside Fifth-Third Bank Stadium and provided by KSU Athletics:

    • 12:30PM - Owl Town Opens - FREE
      This is a free tailgate for fans of all ages with live music, free food, sponsor tents and more! (First come, first served - food will run out! This tailgate is a different option than the paid Alumni Tailgate above. The Alumni Tailgate is a paid event.)
    • 1:00PM - Owl Walk Begins - FREE
      Come cheer on the KSU Football Team as they enter the stadium!
    • 1:30PM – Stadium Gates Open for Football Game - MUST HAVE PAID TICKET TO ENTER
    • 3:00PM – KICKOFF vs Tennessee State FOOTBALL GAME TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT!

    NOTE: If you select/pay to attend the Alumni + KSU Families tailgate, you will still be able to easily walk from the tailgate to Owl Town and the Owl Walk if interested. 

    SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8TH

    10:30 AM- 2 PM - Take Your Family to Brunch/Lunch - On Your Own
    Join your student for brunch/lunch at either one of our dining halls and experience 2022's 13th best dining program in the nation! Each location will have a spirited selection of offerings! 

    Payment: Guests are welcome to use their student's Meal Plan entries, use the student's Dining Dollars ($9 breakfast-$11.25 lunch) or with Credit Card ($10 breakfast-$14 lunch, plus tax per person). Cash is not accepted. Breakfast/Brunch Hours, 10:30AM-Noon, Lunch Hours begin at Noon.

    1:00 PM–Women’s Soccer Game - Free Admission + Gate Giveaway of KSU Soccer Keychains!

    We're trying to purchase gameday football game tickets and it seems as they're sold out using the link provided. Is there any other way to obtain tickets?
