Neurodivergent and Friends

A flyer for Neurodivergent and Friends, a semi-structured social group to provide space for folks who identify as neurodiverse or neurotypical to gain understanding of how others may approach social situations, build relationships, and handle conflict. Sessions will be held on Thursdays at 3:30pm in the Engineering Technology Center Conference Room 204. The flyer is yellow and in the top right and left corners there are squiggly lines as decoration. The bottom right corner shows a group of cartoon people all smiling and raising their arms in excitement.

New Group Alert! Neurodivergent and Friends is a new group, hosted by Student Disability Services and supported by Counseling and Psychological Services. This semi-structured space was designed to provide folks who identify as neurodiverse (Neurodivergent) and neurotypical (Friends) with an opportunity to understand more about how others approach social situations. We hope you'll encourage your student to attend one or more of these sessions!

This group was not designed to create one way of being, or "normalize" experiences. There are a wide variety of ways to engage in the social environment in college, and we believe that each attendees individual experiences can lend to a deeper understanding of the many ways to be. Some sessions will feature an activity centered on a specific topic, and then provide space for those in the group to talk about their own experiences with each topic.

Students can register their attendance in Owl Life, or they can just drop in to sessions. Each session will begin at 3:30 and could last until 4:45pm on Thursdays on the Marietta campus in the Engineering Technology Center Conference Room 204.

For questions, please reach out to Dr. Sarah Burman at Student Disability Services (470-578-7489).
