Priority Deadline for FAFSA Approaching

File your FAFSA.

Parents and Supporters -- Your student should have received the following email on Wednesday (4/10) reminding them about the priority deadline for FAFSA and providing guidance on filing.

The 2024-2025 FAFSA, which is used for financial aid awarding in Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025, is available. The priority deadline for filing the 2024-2025 FAFSA has been extended to April 15, 2024, so we encourage you to file your FAFSA as soon as possible.

The U.S. Department of Education plans to begin sending completed 2024-2025 FAFSAs to listed schools in the first half of March 2024. This means if you have already filed a 2024-2025 FAFSA, we will not have your information until later in March. Please rest assured if you’ve already completed your application, it will be stored for processing, and you do not need to resubmit your FAFSA. Please keep an eye on your personal and KSU email for any further information regarding your application or updates on the FAFSA process.

How do I start?

Start by locating or creating your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID — a username and password combination that allows you to electronically sign your FAFSA. To tell if you already have an FSA ID, visit the studentaid.gov website and enter your credentials. If you are able to log in and see your profile, you already have an FSA ID.

If you are a dependent student, one of your parents, whose information will be reported on the FAFSA, will need to create an FSA ID as well. To determine if you are considered a dependent student, review the criteria here.

Once you've created your FSA ID, listed below are some things you will need to complete the FAFSA:

  • Your 2022 tax return(s) and your parent's (if you are a dependent student) or your spouse's (if you are married)
  • Other financial documentation, like records of untaxed income and assets
  • Your Social Security number and your parent's (if you are a dependent student) or your spouse's (if you are married)
  • Kennesaw State University school code: 001577

We understand that the financial aid process can be confusing and complex, and we are here to help. If you have questions or need assistance, contact us by visiting the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid website.

Sincerely,
