Make Sure Your Student Has Their Parking Permit for Fall!

From kennesaw.edu/parking

At KSU, we want to ensure your student has a seamless experience when it comes to parking on campus. Show your students this step-by-step guide to help them purchase a parking permit and secure designated parking areas on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses:

  1. They must log into the Parking Portal using their NetID and password.
  2. They need to click on the “Permits” tab at the top of the page and select “Get Permits” in the drop-down, which will take them to the virtual permitting system.
  3. They should click “Next” at the bottom of the page, and the “KSU Permit Selection and Permit Agreement” page will load. They must select a permit and then click the boxes indicating familiarity with and understanding of Parking and Transportation’s rules and regulations.
  4. To add vehicles to their account, they select the “Add an Additional Vehicle” option at the bottom of the “Select Your Vehicles for Permit” page. They may select up to five vehicles to apply to the permit and then click “Next” to continue.
  5. On the “Purchase Overview” page, they will see the permit term, permit option, and maps to both campuses displayed.
  6. They need to click “Checkout” at the bottom of the page to continue to the “Finalize Purchase” page. If everything is accurate on this page, they click the box indicating that they have read and understood the above statements and click “Transfer Permit Fee to Owl Express” to finalize the permit selection process.

Upon your student successfully completing their permit selection, they will receive a confirmation email from the Parking and Transportation department.

If you and your student are unsure of which permit is right for them, don’t worry!

Which Permit Should They Pick?
If your student will be living on campus, they should opt for a Residential Parking Permit based on their campus residence. For the Marietta campus, select the corresponding Marietta permit; for the Kennesaw campus, choose either a First-Year permit or an Upper-Class permit. On the other hand, if your student will be commuting to campus, the Commuter Parking Permit will grant access to a variety of designated parking areas on each campus.

License Plate = Parking Permit
Please note that your student's license plate serves as their permit. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure that the make, model and license plate information for each vehicle they drive to school is accurately listed on their account. They can visit the Parking Portal to add or update their vehicle information.

Remember, parking outside of designated areas may result in citations. For more detailed information, visit our website.

We look forward to welcoming your student this fall! Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
