As a family member, it’s essential to understand the different Meal Plan options available for your student, whether they live on or off campus. Here’s a quick guide to help you navigate the choices.
Residential Meal Plans
All on-campus students receive a Residential Meal Plan each fall and spring semester. The default plan is based on earned credit hours:
- Underclassmen (less than 60 credit hours): Weekly 12 Plan + $525 Dining Dollars
- Upperclassmen (60 or more credit hours): Weekly 3 Plan + $500 Dining Dollars
Students can use meal swipes at The Commons, Stingers, select food trucks and High Point Café. Dining Dollars can be spent at any on-campus restaurants and The Market, KSU’s convenience store. If your student wants a different plan than the default, they can upgrade before the semester's drop/add period ends.
Non-Residential/Commuter Meal Plans
For off-campus students, a variety of Non-Residential/Commuter Meal Plans are available, allowing them to mix and match Access Plans and Dining Dollars. These plans offer flexibility to suit their needs throughout the semester and can be purchased anytime via the Transact Mobile ordering app.
Important Details
Validity: Meal Plans are valid only for the semester in which they are purchased. Remaining swipes expire at the semester’s end, while Dining Dollars from fall carry over to spring. Any remaining funds at the end of the spring semester are forfeited.
