Family Weekend 2023

Hooty-Hoo! You're invited to join us for Family Weekend 2023 presented by Parent & Family Programs, October 6th-8th!

This weekend is a chance to reconnect with your student and offers a variety of events throughout campus as well as our local community - something for everyone! Paid registration for the weekend includes our Friday evening Kick Off Event + Swag Bag that includes our coveted long-sleeve T-shirt! The rest of the weekend's events will be 'choose your own adventure' style so that you may create for what works best with the interests of your Owl Family. 

*FRIDAY MIDDAY - If you are available to come to campus a little earlier, we have a few opportunities leading up to our Friday evening Kick Off Event:

  • 11am-1pm - 'Take your Family to Lunch' at either dining hall - The Commons in Kennesaw or Stingers in Marietta. You'll use your student's meal plan/dining dollars, or pay out of pocket via credit card to enjoy a spirited time with your student as you enjoy all the amazing food stations our dining halls have to offer! 
  • 1pm-2:30pm - Tours of our Recreation Centers (both campuses), our Zuckerman Museum of Art (Kennesaw Campus) as well as some additional resources available as you spend time with your student. (Free!) Locations & Details updated soon.
  • 2:30pm-3:30pm - Join in on a 'Last Lecture' by two beloved professors! (Free! Both Campuses) Location & Details updated soon.

*FRIDAY EVENING KICK OFF EVENT (4:00pm-7:00pm) & HOOTY-HOO's GOT TALENT EVENT (8:00pm-9:30pm)

Friday evening will be a BLAST! You'll receive your Family Weekend swag, enjoy a tailgate reception and have a ton of fun on our Campus Green!

  • 4pm-6pm - Please join us for check-in at the Kennesaw Campus (Campus Green) to receive your weekend swag bag/materials + reception wristband. Once you check-in, you'll be able to enjoy our photo booth, on/off campus resources fair inside the student center and visit the campus bookstore to see all the new fall/winter items! (We'll offer you a fun Family Weekend promotional at the Bookstore too - stay tuned!)
  • 6:00pm-6:30pm - You'll move from inside the Student Center, back out to the Campus Green for our tailgate reception (the wristband you receive at check-in, as a part of the PAID weekend package, will allow you to eat during this time). We'll have our fabulous Owl Radio DJ, other cool photo-opportunities and specific zones for our FLIGHT '26 (sophomore) and FLIGHT '27 (first year) families to eat/mingle with your class dean. 
  • 6:30pm-7:00pm - As you enjoy your food and fellowship, we'll begin the Pep Rally portion of the event! This will be a spirited time to enjoy hearing from our KSU President, Vice President, Football Coach, Cheerleaders and Marching Owls Band! 
  • 7:00pm-7:30pm - Continue eating and mingling around the Campus Green while listening to our DJ and taking more pictures! At this time the doors to the Convocation Center will open for you to enter and get ready for the next big event of the evening, Hooty-Hoo's Got Talent!
  • 7:30pm-8:00pm - The Campus Green will officially shut down and if you haven't already, you'll make your way to the Convocation Center
  • 8:00pm-9:30pm - It's now time for Hooty-Hoo's Got Talent, our student talent showcase! (You will need to register for this event via a separate link - I will send out the link when it's ready from our campus partners.)

*SATURDAY - You are free to 'choose your own adventure', selecting just the right amount and style of events that best suit your family. 

*SUNDAY - After a full array of events on Friday and Saturday, you may be ready to scoot back home, or you may be ready for more! If so, you're invited to join us Sunday morning, from 10:30-12, either at Stingers (Marietta Campus) or The Commons (Kennesaw Campus) to enjoy some of our student's favorite brunch fare before you head back home. (Lunch stations will open at 12pm if you'd like more than brunch selections.) Like on Friday, you may allow your student to use their meal plan entries/dining dollars to pay for your entry or via credit card.

NOTE: PACKAGE PURCHASES AS WELL AS TSHIRT PURCHASES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Please be sure to consider this when making your purchasing decisions.
